Benavidez vs Yarde, Haney vs Norman Jr: Date, Time & Full Breakdown of Riyadh’s “Night of Champions”

By Tim Smith - July 15, 2025 - 12 comments

The Saudis are back again — this time with four world title fights stacked into one mad night. On November 22 in Riyadh, David Benavidez defends his WBC light-heavyweight title against British knockout artist Anthony Yarde. Devin Haney moves up again to take on unbeaten Brian Norman Jr. for the WBO welterweight title. And that’s only half the chaos.

The undercard? Pure mayhem. Abdullah Mason vs. Sam Noakes for the vacant WBO lightweight belt. Jesse Rodriguez vs. Fernando Martinez for The Ring’s super flyweight crown. All undefeated. All swinging for legacy. And yes — it’s another “Riyadh Season” event, because oil money doesn’t sleep and neither does DAZN.

Can Benavidez wreck another Brit — or does Yarde finally land his shot?

David Benavidez (30-0, 24 KOs) isn’t playing tourist. The two-time champ is now king at 175, and he’s treating Anthony Yarde like another notch for the highlight reel. “It’s a perfect matchup stylistically,” Benavidez said, basically licking his lips in Times Square.

But Yarde (27-3, 24 KOs) doesn’t think he’s showing up for a paycheck. “I will fight any man on the planet,” he declared. Problem is, he already tried that against Artur Beterbiev and got chopped in eight. So now he’s rolling the dice again — this time in Riyadh, under different lights, with a different killer. You respect the bravery. You question the logic.

Will Haney take Norman’s belt — or get humbled in the desert?

Brian Norman Jr. (28-0, 22 KOs) calls himself “The Norman Experience.” Haney? He just calls himself undefeated. The former undisputed lightweight champ is chasing a belt in a third division, and he’s not here for hugs. “This isn’t just legacy, this is business,” Haney said.

Norman wasn’t impressed. “Let’s see if Deebo Haney can take these bricks,” he growled. That’s the thing: Norman’s mean. He hits hard. And he’s not here to be a stat on Haney’s perfect record. But Haney has been here before — under pressure, on big nights, and always walks away with the win. Is Norman just another one of “the last ones”?

  1. All this stuff in Riyadh just feels fake to me now… it’s more business than boxing 🤑! They care more about fireworks and entrances than who actually wins or loses the fight.

  2. If Norman loses then I’ll believe Haney real deal, but until then I think Norman got what it takes to shock everybody. He hungry and he gonna fight like his life depend on it.

    • Haney too busy thinking about legacy instead of fighting smart sometimes 🙄. That mindset can get him dropped if Norman comes hard from round one.

    • Norman ain’t scared one bit and that makes him dangerous 😤! Haney better stop acting like he’s untouchable cause that’s how boxers lose bad.

  3. ‘Night of Champions’ sounds cool but I bet most people only watching two of these fights. The rest just filler so the Saudis can say it was a big event 🙄.

  4. Why they always act like undefeated means someone better? All these guys been protected with easy fights before now. Let’s see what happen when they actually face someone who punches back.

    • ‘Undefeated’ just means you ain’t fought nobody tough yet sometimes 🤷‍♂️. Records lie all the time in boxing cause promoters pick easy fights on purpose.

  5. People keep hyping Haney like he unbeatable but he ain’t been tested by a guy like Norman yet. That dude hit hard and don’t play around. Haney might get rocked bad this time 😬.

  6. This whole card just feel like a way for Saudi to show off money again 💸💸💸. Real fans care about good fights, not where they happening or how much oil pays for them.

  7. I don’t get why they keep putting Yarde in these fights like he gonna win or something. He already lost to a real champ before. Just because it’s in Saudi doesn’t change nothing. Benavidez too strong 💪.

    • Exactly! Yarde always talks big but when he steps in with real fighters, he crumbles. It’s not about heart, it’s about skill and power, and Benavidez got both.

    • Yarde ain’t got the brain for this level of boxing. He fights wild and hopes for a lucky punch. That won’t work against someone like Benavidez who’s actually smart in the ring.
