The Ring Magazine III doubleheader hits Louis Armstrong Stadium in NYC on July 12, streaming live worldwide on DAZN (7:00 p.m. local / 10:00 p.m. ET / 3:00 a.m. UK). Super middleweights Edgar Berlanga and Hamzah Sheeraz square off, while Shakur Stevenson defends his WBC lightweight title against William Zepeda in what’s supposed to be a proving ground.
Both fights were hyped during today’s press conference in Times Square — but the fighters clearly didn’t get the PR memo.
Where’s the fire?
Berlanga, standing in his own backyard, didn’t bother with modesty. “I’m knocking this mother***er out,” he barked at Sheeraz. Said he’s going to “break every bone in his face.” Real charming stuff. Claimed Sheeraz is “basic” and trained by a guy whose last fighter got wrecked. Apparently, Berlanga believes he walked Canelo down and now wants a rematch: “His people are asking for it.”
Sheeraz, unfazed, came with a calm death stare and a chip on his shoulder. “I’m being underestimated,” he said. “I’m coming for everything.” He dismissed the “soft” talk and promised to “knock him the f*** out” with a clean right. No theatrics. Just cold precision. If it goes twelve? “It’ll be explosive.”
Then came Stevenson, visibly annoyed at Zepeda’s public plea to “stand and fight.” Shakur snapped: “I’m not standing there. I’m coming in to whoop his a**.” Claimed this would be the “best version” of himself anyone’s seen. Said Zepeda has “no chance.” Flat out.
Zepeda, quiet but dead serious, called it the “opportunity of my life.” Said he’s training at “one million percent” and doesn’t plan to let the judges near it. “This is the fruit of 16 years of labor,” he said. “I have to stop this fight.”
Who takes it?
If Berlanga wants Canelo again, he’d better not gas out or swing wild. The New Yorker is loud and heavy-handed, but that won’t rattle Sheeraz — who’s rangy, composed, and walking into enemy territory like it’s nothing. If Edgar doesn’t end it early, he could be eating jabs all night.
Shakur’s already writing the Tank Davis story, but Zepeda’s the kind of fighter who forces tempo and cuts off the ring like it’s instinct. If Stevenson coasts or plays it safe, this could turn messy. Zepeda doesn’t just throw punches; he floods you.
Berlanga talks like a KO artist. Sheeraz moves like a technician. Stevenson thinks he’s untouchable. Zepeda’s trying to prove that’s a lie. Who actually delivers when it counts?
We’ll see who’s selling wolf tickets and who’s showing up for real.

‘Knock him out’ vs ‘Knock him the f*** out’? Wow what a deep stratigic analysis from both sides 🙃 these boys train in poetry class or gym? Sound like toddlers fightin over juice box 🤷♂️ Hope their fists smarter than their words 😬.
@Graham Theo lmao right?? It’s like they skipped English and majored in trash talk 🤓 I’d pay for grammar lessons before PPV tickets any day 📚😂 #fixyourverbs
[funny tone] This sound like WWE with gloves tbh 😂 you got guys yelling about breakin bones and then others talk bout million percent training?? who’s math teacher is that 💀 if zepada win imma eat my remote 📺🍗
(sarcastic tone) Oh wow amazing another press conferece where they scream at each other like its middle school fight club 🙄 real profesionalism right there… i guess cursing means you win belt now huh? cant wait to see them hug after and say ‘its all respect’ lololol
Ok but why ppl thinking Berlanga walk down Canelo? 😂😂 That man barely land jabs on guys ranked outside top20… sheerez gonna give him masterclass clinic while his momma watches from front row 💅 Stevenson too cocky as always wait til Zepeda drop a left hook buffet all night long 🍿
Historically speaking, stylistic contrast often produce the most compelling bouts—particularly in super middleweight divisions where reach and tempo dictate outcomes. Sheeraz’s ranginess may neutralize Berlanga’s aggressive approach unless Edgar adapts mid-fight. Similarly, Stevenson’s defensive mastery will be tested by Zepeda’s unrelenting pressure; reminiscent of Castillo-Corrales dynamics.
These kinda matches? totaly overhyped. 🤦 Berlanga just loudmouth with no gas tank, he gon swing and miss like always. Shakur boring fighter bro, always just runnin not boxing. Zepeda atleast tryin but he ain’t elite, sorry. Rather watch reruns than stay up till 3am for this crap.
Honestly love ths match up, finally som real fights not that soft padded stuff!! 😍 Berlanga got fire 🔥 but Sheeraz got cool like ice. I think this will be a war of styles and its gunna be amazin to watchs. Stevenson vs Zepeda also wild! I wanna see who gots more heart, cos talk is cheap!!! LET’S GO!!! 🥊🥊
