Brian Mendoza Calls Out Sebastian Fundora Again: “He Knows What Happened”

Brian “La Bala” Mendoza isn’t letting his history with Sebastian Fundora fade. On the “Drew & Pris Uncensored” podcast, the Las Vegas contender made it clear he wants another crack at the WBC champ — and he didn’t hold back on the mic.

“I knocked Fundora into another planet,” Mendoza said, reminding everyone of that brutal 2023 stoppage. “He knows what happened, and deep down, he knows it can happen again.”

Mendoza Doubles Down

Pressed on whether he deserves the next shot, Mendoza didn’t hesitate. “Absolutely. But let’s be real — Fundora is scared of me. He keeps avoiding me. He knows I’m a threat to that belt, and I’m not going anywhere.”

That’s a direct shot at Fundora (21-1-1, 15 KOs), who’s just weeks away from defending his WBC strap against Keith Thurman on October 25 at the MGM Grand in Vegas. Mendoza (22-4, 17 KOs) is making sure his name stays in the conversation before the division shifts again.

A Rematch Fans Haven’t Forgotten

The first Mendoza-Fundora fight shook up the super welterweight picture. Mendoza’s knockout became the clip replayed in every argument about Fundora’s chin. “That fight changed everything — for both of us. He can’t erase it, and the fans haven’t forgotten it either,” Mendoza added.

If Fundora handles Thurman, pressure will build for the rematch. If he stumbles, Mendoza’s callouts still carry weight — he’s proven he can deliver the kind of violence that moves him into title talk no matter who’s holding the belt.

  1. $hit don’t make sense… Mendoza KO’d him already and still gotta beg for a rematch? 😂 What else he gotta do? Break the dude in half live on TV?

  2. ‘Scared’ might be a strong word but truth is Fundora ain’t rushing for that smoke again with Mendoza cause he got embarrassed bad. If you a real champion you step back in there no questions asked.

  3. Fundora is fighting Thurman but what about finishing business with Mendoza first? That’s the fight people want to see cause we know how it ended last time. Thurman ain’t even been active enough.

    • Yep Selina! I don’t even remember Thurman fighting lately so why he getting a title shot before Mendoza? That’s just politics not boxing.

  4. I think Mendoza already beat Fundora fair and square, so why Fundora acting like he forgot? He scared to lose again, that’s all. If you ain’t ready to face the man who knocked you out, then don’t call yourself a champ. 💯

    • Exactly! Champions supposed to prove they the best, not hide from rematches. Mendoza earned his shot with that KO and Fundora just ducking now.
