Veteran Francis Chua returned from a three-year layoff to rough up China’s Xiaotao Su and claim the WBC Australasia Silver Lightweight title in a throwback firefight. At 39, Chua walked through hell and came out with gold.
This card wasn’t just about comebacks either. Sam Rennie blasted his way to history, Billy Quinncroft proved tougher than concrete, and Owen Corrigan reminded everyone why Irish power travels well.
Let’s break it down.
Chua shows no rust, just violence
Francis Chua hadn’t fought since 2022, and the whispers were getting louder. Too old? Too inactive? Too late?
He shut all that down. The Perth native pressed from the start, walking through Su’s clean left hooks and unloading uppercuts, body shots, and grimy clinch work that made things nasty.
By the middle rounds, Chua was cutting off the ring and ripping Su to the ribs. In the final round, he went hunting for a stoppage—digging deep with combinations, staggering Su more than once. Su stayed up, but he was cooked.
Unanimous decision. New WBC Australasia Silver champ. Old-school grit, zero excuses.
At 39, Chua now stares down one final run. He’s already faced the likes of Liam Wilson and Kye MacKenzie. Don’t be shocked if he adds another name or two before he calls it.
Rennie drops bombs, makes history for Isle of Man
The co-main wasn’t close.
Sam Rennie, just two fights in, already looked like a polished destroyer. He schooled Asyer Alumin with the jab early, then went hunting on orders from his corner. Third round—boom, left hook to the liver. Down goes Alumin.
Fourth round? Right hook, another knockdown. Fight over. Rennie becomes the first man from the Isle of Man to win a WBC regional belt. The kid’s 3-0, and none of them were close.
Quinncroft wins the WA brawl—and a belt
Billy Quinncroft had to bite down and survive some heat to get his hands on the WA State Cruiserweight strap.
Early on, he played it smart—jabbing, circling, staying composed. Seidu, to his credit, tried to drag Quinncroft into a brawl and landed some bombs late, including a thudding right that rocked the crowd and maybe Quinncroft too.
But Billy survived, heard the final bell, and got the nod. Clean sweep on the cards. His reward? Likely a title defense against Will Cleggett, who picked up a win earlier in the night.
Corrigan unleashes hell on Muster
Irish prospect Owen Corrigan didn’t waste time reminding fans why he’s one of the hottest young punchers in the country.
Muster tried to get wild early with loopy hooks, but Corrigan found his rhythm in round two. Jab. Right hand. Down goes Muster—twice.
Round three, Corrigan closes the show. Huge right hand drops Muster again, and a follow-up flurry forces the ref to jump in. Corrigan stays undefeated and now waits for the inevitable step up. Title shot incoming.

‘Old school grit’ mean wat exactly?! Jus mean slow an take too many hits lol 😂 Chua aint elite anymore jus tough old guy hangin on2 dreams… He’ll get KO’d BAD if face top young lightweights again.
@EmmaButler He aint slow he methodical!! Big diff 💪 you miss how he cut off ring like pro – only real fans understand strategy like that!
Billy Q is just okay fighter, nothing spectakular about his performence. He get hit too much and still win? WA judges be blind sometimes fr 😑… Seidu almost stop him in last round and still lost wide? Comon now.
No way bro Billy faught smart all time until late on so what?? U survive da heat n stil win clean dats boxing! Seidu swing wild no control jus power 🙅♂️ Billy earn dat W
@Ebutler agree totaly! Card was rigged I bet 😒… always favor local boyz even wen dey don’t perform best!! Same happen in other fights too.
I do not agreed that Owen Corrigan is ‘one of hottest punchers’. His opponant was sloppy mess who fall over himself more than got hit… any gud fighter shud destroy Muster like that. Call it talent? No, call it mis match! If WBC give him a belt nxt they making joke of the sport 🥴
So Rennie win fast n peepz think he da next big ting? Nah bro, 3-0 don’t meen goat status 🤷♂️. That Alumin guy didn’t look ready for tha fight or even train proper. Rennie got power yeah but need to see him wit real opponnent first before sayin history made or woteva.
Why Chua even be in the ring at 39?? he shuld retir long time ago. Boxin is no joke, and ppl need 2 know wen to stop or u get hurt bad. Su was younger an shoulda won if not for bad judge maybe. But jus cos Chua older, dey cheer like crazy, its not fair to the sport!!! 🙄
