Frank Martin vs Rances Barthelemy headlines free PBC prelims on Prime Video on Oct 25

Frank “The Ghost” Martin ain’t smiling anymore. Saturday, October 25, he walks into the MGM Grand in Las Vegas looking to burn off the stink of that Gervonta Davis loss. He’s going up to super lightweight to handle Cuban vet Rances Barthelemy in a 10-rounder topping a free PBC on Prime Video stream before Sebastian Fundora vs Keith Thurman later that night.

The free show starts 5:30 p.m. ET / 2:30 p.m. PT. Nineteen-year-old Las Vegas prodigy Kaipo Gallegos tries to keep his hype alive against Colombian slugger Nike Theran. Dominican hitter Luis “The Twist” Nunez gets tested by Argentina’s upset merchant Hector Sosa. Watch early or miss the real scraps.

Martin wants to erase the Tank hangover

Martin (18-1, 12 KOs) was the slick southpaw every lightweight was side-eyeing until Tank cracked that aura. Before that, Martin dropped Artem Harutyunyan late in 2023 and styled on Michel Rivera in 2022. He’s done explaining that one bad night.

“I’m excited to be back after people tried to bash me for taking one loss,” Martin said. “I took it as a lesson learned and I’m back mentally and physically at the top of my game. Rances is gonna have to deal with everything I went through, and he’s gonna feel it on every punch. I’m back and I’m pissed off and dangerous.”

Barthelemy (30-3-1, 15 KOs) has been around — Ramirez, Gary Antuanne Russell, Argenis Mendez, Mickey Bey, the whole veteran resume. “October 25 is the night I remind everyone who Rances Barthelemy is,” he said. “Frank Martin is a talented fighter, but I’ve been in deep waters before, and experience counts when the lights are brightest.”

Gallegos and Nunez want their shine — Theran and Sosa want to wreck it

Kaipo Gallegos (10-0-1, 8 KOs) is 19, fighting in his city and already talking like a made man. “This isn’t just another fight — it’s my moment to show the world who Kaipo Gallegos really is,” he said. “Expect speed, power, and a little Vegas flair — I’m not leaving it to the judges.”

Nike Theran has been busting guys up since 2016 and doesn’t travel to lose. “If he underestimates me, then I’m gonna be ready to take full advantage,” Theran said.

Luis Nunez (21-0, 14 KOs) is grinding toward a 130-pound strap. “It’s a blessing that this fight will be on Prime Video,” Nunez said. “I’m going for fight of the night, so make sure you tune in early!”
Hector Sosa (18-3, 9 KOs) lives to ruin young guys’ plans. “I love to be the underdog because it makes it even sweeter when they announce me as the winner,” Sosa said.

My Prediction

Martin’s got to look mean here — and I think he does. Barthelemy’s slick but he’s 38 and been chipped away before. Martin’s jab and body work should drag him late; I’m calling stoppage somewhere between nine and ten. If he struggles, forget 140 dreams. Gallegos? Kid’s good, but Theran’s mean enough to test that chin; still think Kaipo survives and wins on hustle. Nunez-Sosa is a dogfight waiting to happen — leaning Nunez by decision but wouldn’t bet the rent. PBC’s smart here: feed the wolves free fights, then reel you in for the pay-per-view. If these prelims flop, the main card feels thinner.

  1. They always tryin to sell us on these young fighters like they legends already. Gallegos ain’t fought nobody real yet, so how we supposed to believe the hype?

  2. All this hype for Nunez but I seen Sosa fight before and dude don’t quit easy. Records don’t mean nothing if you ain’t been tested for real yet 📉

  3. Martin act like one loss ain’t a big deal but it is when you talk so much before the fight! You can’t talk tough and then cry after losin’. Now he better back up all that mouth.

  4. I don’t get why people think Gallegos is all that just cause he’s from Vegas. Home crowd don’t win fights. If Theran hits hard, then it don’t matter where you from 😤

  5. Frank Martin need to stop talkin like he already won. He lost bad to Tank and now actin like he unstoppable. Rances got more experience and that matters way more than bein mad 😠

    • Exactly! People forget experience beats hype most times. Rances been in harder fights than Martin ever had. Don’t be surprised if the vet schools the young blood 🥊
