The Main Event: Gervonta Davis vs. Lamont Roach
Davis (29-0, 27 KOs), widely regarded as one of the hardest hitters in the sport, will make the fourth defense of his WBA Lightweight Title in front of a familiar Brooklyn crowd. His opponent, Roach (24-1-1, 9 KOs), a durable and skilled technician, aims to dethrone Davis and claim his second world championship in a different weight class.
- Davis: “The atmosphere at Barclays is always amazing. I won my first championship here and I’m just excited to come back here to put on a great performance. Roach is in for a rude awakening, for sure.”
- Roach: “The stakes are higher, but I just want to go hard, that’s about it. This is everything for me, and becoming a two-division champion would be a dream come true.”
A classic power vs. precision showdown, with Davis looking to maintain his unbeaten record and Roach seeking to disrupt the status quo.
Co-Main Event: José Valenzuela vs. Gary Antuanne Russell
An elite matchup featuring WBA Super Lightweight Champion José “Rayo” Valenzuela defending against the undefeated Gary Antuanne Russell, a formidable challenger with an impressive 100% knockout rate.
- Valenzuela (15-1, 10 KOs): “I have a big task ahead of me on Saturday night. I can’t overlook him, and I give him my respect. We are both coming to fight.”
- Russell (17-0, 17 KOs): “I know what I’m capable of and I’m ready to take the shine off of the main event. Stay tuned.”
This bout has significant divisional implications, with the winner likely earning a shot at undisputed status in the 140-pound division.

-

Why This Fight Matters
This PBC Pay-Per-View event marks a significant moment in multiple weight classes. Davis remains a dominant force at lightweight, but Roach presents a real test with his ring IQ. Meanwhile, contenders in super lightweight, super welterweight, and middleweight divisions will battle for supremacy, making this a must-watch event for boxing fans globally.

I can’t wait for the fights on March 1! It’s so exciting to see Gervonta Davis defending his title. All the matches sound amazing, especially Valenzuela vs. Russell. This is going to be a great night for boxing fans!
This fight is gonna be epic! I can’t wait to see Davis throw those punches! Roach may be good, but he ain’t ready for Tank’s power. I’m so excited, the Barclays Center will be electric!
I totally agree, Victoria! Davis is like a machine in the ring. Roach might try to outsmart him, but in the end, it’s all about who can hit harder. I’m placing my bets on Tank!
Seriously? Another fight where people just cheer for a guy who’s only good at hitting hard? Roach has skill and strategy. This is not just a sport of brute force! People need to realize there’s more than KOs.
I strongly believe that the matchups are very interesting and the fighters have great skills. Both Valenzuela and Russell are top-notch athletes, and fans should appreciate the level of talent on display instead of criticizing.
I dont think this fight is gonna be any good. Davis is overrated, he never fights real competetion. All his wins are againts weak fighters, so fans shouldnt get their hopes up for this fight to be exciting.
Jose Valenzuela can’t underestimate Gary Russell. Russell is hungry for redemption and have proven he can finish fights. Valenzuela might be a champion, but under pressure he may crumble, like many boxers do when the stakes are high.
I think Gervonta Davis will lose to Lamont Roach. Roach has more experience and skills than Davis, who sometimes get too cocky. This fight is more then just a title, it’s about legacy and Roach will take it.
I don’t agree with the points made in this article. It seems one-sided and doesn’t consider other viewpoints. Everyone has different experiences, and the author should have included more perspectives to make it fair.
