The smoke’s already thick in San Antonio. Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz and Lamont Roach went nose-to-nose Wednesday at the Frost Bank Center, officially lighting the fuse for their PBC Pay-Per-View main event on Prime Video, December 6.
This isn’t some polite handshake fight — it’s a 140-pound shootout between a Mexican wrecking ball and a slick Washington technician looking to prove he belongs in the big-boy division. Cruz wants blood and legacy. Roach? He wants to make believers out of anyone still sleeping on him after that draw with Gervonta “Tank” Davis earlier this year.
Pitbull’s Bark Comes With Bite
“People can expect to see the birth of a new Mexican superstar and Isaac Cruz taking that WBC belt home,” said Pitbull, calm but dangerous, the kind of tone that means he’s not bluffing.
He brushed off Roach’s confidence like lint off his jacket: “There’s really nothing for me to say. I’m used to fighters talking trash before they step into the ring. I’m gonna show him the same way I showed ‘Rolly’ — that trash talk means nothing, because I’m gonna come out on top.”
Cruz knows what the crowd wants: violence with a smile. “The goal in this fight is to make the fans the true winners of the night. I know I can knock him out. He’s human and the punches hurt him just like anyone else.”
Yeah, sounds like a man loading a cannon.
Roach Promises To Bring “Old-School” Pain
“I told everyone what I’m here to do,” said Lamont Roach, cool as a jazz record. “I want to bring old-school boxing back. Me accepting this fight with Cruz proves that I’m like that. I’m definitely gonna give you guys a banger.”
Roach ain’t just talking. He fought Tank Davis to a draw and lived to smile about it. “I’m confident in my work. It’s not just ‘Pitbull’. I’m always looking to hurt, demolish and stop every opponent.”
He’s moving up in weight and loving it: “I’m gonna be strong as hell. I have less weight to cut and more room to work with. I’m in my physical prime right now.”
So yeah, Roach isn’t coming to survive. He’s coming to shock a guy built like a fire hydrant.
Fighters’ Quotes – Straight From the Floor, No Sugarcoating
ISAAC “PITBULL” CRUZ
“It’s been five years since I was here in San Antonio and I’m so glad to be back. I’m here to put on a show. The love means so much to me and I’m gonna give that love right back.”
“This is a very important fight and I’m prepared both physically and mentally to take this win home on Saturday.”
“In 2020 we started off the pay-per-view in San Antonio and now I’m here headlining the pay-per-view. I have to make this fight another seminal moment in my career.”
“I can promise you that this is gonna be an exciting fight, round after round. And I’m gonna get the win.”
Cruz never wastes words — but when he says “exciting fight, round after round,” that’s Pitbull talk for “I’m dragging this lad into hell whether he likes it or not.”
LAMONT ROACH
“San Antonio is great and I’m glad to be back. I can’t wait to put on a show for everyone on Saturday night.”
“It fuels me to carry the weight of my city on my back and come in here and perform like I’m supposed to.”
“It feels good to be here reaping the benefits on my hard work. I’m gonna continue headlining and continue to be a big name in the sport.”
Roach keeps it classy, but you can hear the steel in it — he’s not flying up a division to be Pitbull’s chew toy.
STEPHEN FULTON JR.
“The most important thing is to become the first three-division world champion from Philadelphia and stamp my legacy.”
“To come from the city I come from, to accomplish something that none of the other great fighters have accomplished, it means everything to me.”
“I love the energy of the fans here. I’ve fought in Texas multiple times and gotten multiple knockouts here.”
“You’re gonna see a great performance, but if the knockout is there, I’m definitely gonna put on a hell of a show for everyone out there.”
Fulton is clearly chasing history, not just a belt.
ERISLANDY LARA
“I’m just focused on fighting, no matter who the opponent is. I’m not even gonna mention that guy’s name cause he doesn’t deserve it.”
“I’m glad to be on this big card. It means a lot. We’re gonna go out there prepared and see what our opponent does and take it from there.”
Peak Lara — cold, blunt, unbothered.
This one’s got chaos written all over it. Cruz throws like he’s getting paid per punch, and Roach’s counter game is slick enough to make you blink twice. If Roach can stay off the ropes and make Pitbull miss early, he’s got a shot to frustrate him — but the kid from Mexico fights like he owes somebody money. My gut says Cruz by late stoppage… but don’t bet your house. Boxing’s funny like that — one slip, one counter, and it’s lights out.

Everyone always hypes the guy who talk smooth like Roach but when it’s time to fight, talk don’t help you win. Pitbull gonna bring pain and Roach ain’t ready for real war.
‘Real war’ don’t mean nothing if you get outboxed from the outside all night long though.
@Ross Kirsty nah cause Pitbull cuts the ring off good, so there won’t be no outside for Roach to stay on 😂
Roach moving up in weight don’t mean he better now, it might slow him down actually. He already had trouble with some guys at lower weight so what makes people think he’s better now?
Pitbull talks like he already won and that’s dangerous thinking. You can’t just assume you winning because you strong. Boxing got more to do with thinking too.
Yea but Pitbull is not just strong, he fast and never stops punching. That pressure alone will break Roach down if he not careful 😤.
I don’t see how Roach gonna win this. Pitbull Cruz got that power and he always comes forward. Roach can try old-school stuff but that ain’t gonna work against someone like Cruz. 💥
You say that but Roach held his own with Tank, who hits harder than Cruz in my opinion. So maybe you should think twice before saying he can’t win.
