Jordan White Headlines ProBox TV Card on April 12 in Maryland

By Tim Smith - April 12, 2025 - 10 comments

Live on ProBox TV this Saturday, April 12, the card kicks off at 8:00 PM ET / 5:00 PM PT / 1:00 AM BST (Sunday) / 2:00 AM CEST (Sunday) from Casino Hotel in Hanover, Maryland. If you’re a real fan, you’ll already know this ain’t one to scroll past—this card packs hungry locals, undefeated prospects, and a headliner trying to make the jump from “next up” to “get him a real fight.”

White vs. Romero: One’s Rising, One’s Clawing Back

Jordan White (18-1, 12 KOs) doesn’t do wasted movement. The D.C. counterpuncher keeps things sharp, patient, and mean. He’s already put two bodies behind him in 2024, blasting out Oquendo-Arnaldi in one, then calmly outworking Jason Sanchez. No fluff, no flash—just clean violence. This time, he draws Argentina’s Jose Matias Romero (29-3, 10 KOs), a guy who’s been surviving off volume and durability since Ramirez schooled him two years back.

Romero’s scraped together three wins since, but none of them scream “problem.” White wins this, and he forces his way into the junior lightweight mess that’s clogged with guys skating on reputation. Romero wins? Maybe he earns another shot to be a name on someone else’s résumé. Either way, this fight tells us who’s worth keeping in the room and who’s headed for the “opponent” pile.

Shaw vs. Akpejiori: One of Them Isn’t Built for the Top 15

Stephan Shaw (20-2, 15 KOs) has heard it all—too safe, too slow, too careful. But facts are facts: he went the distance with Ajagba and didn’t fold like most do. Since then, he’s added two stoppages and tightened up his approach. Now comes Raphael Akpejiori (18-1, 17 KOs), a sledgehammer thrower out of Florida by way of Nigeria, who’s flattened three straight since his only loss.

The problem? Akpejiori’s power is real, but when he’s in with someone who won’t just let him swing wild, he stalls. Shaw’s technical edge could expose him—if Shaw actually decides to take the risk. If he doesn’t? Could be a long night. This is a gatekeeper brawl in disguise. The loser goes back to regional shows. The winner gets dragged into the next title eliminator mess.

Foster vs. Benitez: Quiet Operators Fighting to Stay in Play

William Foster III (18-2, 11 KOs) doesn’t chase the camera. He just does the job—smart, measured, methodical. After a hiccup in 2023, he’s taken two solid wins in 2024 and now faces Brandon Leon Benitez (21-3, 9 KOs), a scrappy Mexican who gave Robeisy Ramirez some decent rounds but couldn’t do much else.

This fight won’t go viral, but it matters. Foster’s looking to wedge himself into the conversation in a division full of slick movers and pressure freaks. Benitez is fighting to prove he’s more than filler for bigger names. Don’t expect drama—expect answers.

DMV Undercard: Local Killers on the Hunt

Here’s who’s padding their records and maybe turning heads Saturday night:

  • David Whitmire (9-0, 6 KOs) – solid welterweight with a mean hook.

  • Jordan Roach (3-0, 1 KO) – baby Roach, learning quick.

  • Ben Johnson (3-0, 3 KOs) – wrecking crew so far, now let’s see if he can box.

  • Francois Scarboro Jr. (9-0, 7 KOs) – junior lightweight, doesn’t waste chances when he hurts guys.

These aren’t household names yet. But ProBox TV’s giving them the stage. What they do with it? That’s what this sport’s about.

  1. ‘Local Killers’? More like local wannabes haha. These guys aren’t ready for the big leagues yet, let them fight more before putting them on live TV! 😂

    • ‘You don’t get it Aaron, every fighter starts somewhere! Just because they are local doesn’t mean they can’t grow into something great if given chance!’

    • ‘I agree with Mmarshall here! Boxing is about building careers over time; let’s support these fighters instead of tearing them down!’

  2. ‘The event’s stacked’ they say? Well I see a lot of unknowns here! Where are the big names? Fans deserve to see action and not fillers pretending to be fighters!

  3. Whitmer and Roach are just kids trying to play fighters. They will never make it big with records like that. Boxing needs real competition, not these untested guys who only fight nobody’s!

    • ‘Unproven’ doesn’t mean ‘bad’. Xcook! They need chances to grow and improve their skills in front of audiences, stop being so negative about new talent!

  4. Foster vs Benitez is pointless, who even cares? They are not top fighters and will not change anything in the division! It’s just filler for the card, nothing more. 🥱

    • But Uowen, you are wrong! Every fight matters to build future stars, they might surprise us! Just because you dont know them doesnt mean they aren’t important!

  5. Shaw is not as good as people think. His last fights were boring! Akpejiori has power and can finish him if he just stops being careful! I bet my money on Akpejiori, he’s got this! 💪

  6. I dont understand why people are so hyped about White vs Romero. Romero hasnt done anything since his lost! White will crush him easy, its just a waste of time for fans. 😒
