Keyshawn Davis Returns Home to Defend His Title – But De Los Santos Isn’t Coming Quietly

By Tim Smith - June 5, 2025 - 5 comments

Keyshawn Davis will defend his WBO lightweight title against Dominican puncher Edwin De Los Santos on Saturday, June 7, live from Scope Arena in Norfolk, Virginia. The fight airs on ESPN, ESPN Deportes, and ESPN+ at 10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT / 3 a.m. UK. Davis is unbeaten, cocky, and fighting at home—but De Los Santos has no plans of playing along.

Is this Davis’ coronation or crash landing?

Keyshawn (13-0, 9 KOs) finally got his belt after torching Denys Berinchyk and Gustavo Lemos earlier this year. He’s riding the hype, backed by ESPN, and flaunting Olympic silver. But now he’s got to prove he’s more than a fast-talking Top Rank favorite.

De Los Santos (16-2, 14 KOs) is a proper danger. He’s known for crushing unbeaten prospects and dragging slick boxers into rough waters. He went 12 rounds with Shakur Stevenson and left Valenzuela slumped on the ropes. He’s not just here to test Davis—he’s here to wreck him.

Abdullah Mason faces his first live opponent

In the co-feature, red-hot prospect Abdullah Mason (18-0, 16 KOs) steps in against Jeremia Nakathila (26-4, 21 KOs), who’s no stranger to U.S. shores. Nakathila went rounds with Shakur and stopped Miguel Berchelt. Mason’s never been hit by someone like this before. If he’s not sharp, he’s getting humbled.

What else is on?

The undercard starts at 5:10 p.m. ET / 2:10 p.m. PT and includes multiple Top Rank prospects. Davis’ homecoming is the focus, but don’t be shocked if someone else steals the show.

  1. ‘Mason vs Nakathila’ might be tha best fight on this card fr fr… People sleepin on it but if you seen Nakathila b4 you kno he tough like nails 😤 Mason never had some1 really punch him back hard, so we gone see if hes legit or not finally 🧐👀

  2. No way Davis loose!! You all dnt know nothing about boxing lol 😂 Look at his speed an how smart he moves, this guy gonna be champ for yearss. Santos good but to wild with punchs and Davis just to slick 💨💯

  3. Why peoples sayin Keyshawn is already the next big ting? His record good yes but them guys he beat was already washed or never that great tbh. De Los Santoz is a lion in ring an gonna expose him for real. Boxing ain’t about hype its about heart and war!

  4. Davis will not win cause he too flashy and don’t keep his hand up proper. Just watching his last few fights make me see he dont defence right. De los santos hits like a truck load of bricks and has face more challenge, which Davis not did yet 😤.

  5. I think De Los santose got more fire in the belly then Keyshawn. 🥊 just becuz he at home don’t mean nothing, look what happen to other fighters who think they can’t lose at home!! Davis ain’t fought no real killer yet and Santos been against better opponentz. He gonna get shocked trust me.
