Kingsley Ibeh Dominates with Second First-Round KO
TACOMA, Wash. (January 11, 2025) – Kingsley Ibeh (15-2-1, 13 KOs) extended his winning streak to 10 with a dominant performance at “EQC Fight Night,” hosted at the Emerald Queen Casino in Tacoma, Washington.
Ibeh, a former Canadian football player, dismantled Scott Alexander (17-7-2, 9 KOs) in just one round. Leveraging a 70-pound weight advantage, Ibeh trapped Alexander on the ropes and scored two knockdowns. The final blow landed at 2:36 of the first round, marking Ibeh’s second consecutive first-round KO at this venue. Entering as the WBC Latino Silver Heavyweight Champion, he left with the vacant WBC Latino title.
Is there anyone in the division who wants to step in with this powerhouse?
Austin Brooks Defends WBA Title with Body Shot KO
Austin Brooks (13-0-1, 6 KOs) successfully defended his WBA Continental Super Featherweight title with an eighth-round KO against Rosalindo Morales (10-2, 2 KOs). Brooks, ranked No. 15 by the WBA, controlled the fight from the first bell.
A devastating left hook to the body at 1:04 of the eighth round left Morales unable to continue. Brooks remains undefeated, showcasing his sharp timing and clean technique.
Anyone else think this division just got a lot more interesting?
Dedrick Crocklem Shines in Pro Debut
Tacoma native Dedrick Crocklem (1-0, 1 KO) made an explosive pro debut, stopping Nesly Trezile (1-2, 0 KOs) at 52 seconds of the second round. Crocklem, a decorated amateur with multiple gold medals, dropped Trezile through the ropes in the first round and sealed the win with a flurry of punches in the second.
Does this guy look like the future or what? Top Rank seems to think so.

I find it hard to believe that Dedrick Crocklem is the ‘future’ of boxing just because he had a strong debut. Many fighters shine in their first match but fail to deliver consistently afterward. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves.
Austin Brooks may have won, but does anyone else find it troubling that he only managed to score six KOs in fourteen fights? This division needs more explosive fighters who can end fights decisively instead of relying on decisions.
While Kingsley Ibeh’s performance was impressive, we must question the legitimacy of his competition. Scott Alexander is not a top contender, and a 70-pound weight advantage raises concerns about the fairness of the match-up.
What an incredible night of fights! Kingsley Ibeh is truly a force to be reckoned with in the heavyweight division. His performance was nothing short of spectacular, and I can’t wait to see who he’ll face next!
While Kingsley Ibeh’s performance was impressive, we need to consider the level of competition he faced. Scott Alexander has had a mixed record, and Ibeh’s weight advantage raises questions about whether he can replicate this success against top-tier fighters.
Another first-round KO? Yawn. Is anyone really surprised? It seems like Ibeh is just out there bullying smaller opponents. Let’s see him fight someone his own size before we crown him a champion.
