Masoud vs McGrail – Monte-Carlo’s Fight Night Goes Dark, Loud, and Violent

Forget tuxedos and champagne — this one’s got blood under the diamonds.
Shabaz Masoud and Peter McGrail are bringing proper British venom to Monaco’s golden halls on Saturday, December 6, where they’ll tear into each other for the IBO World and vacant EBU European Super Bantamweight titles at the luxurious Salle des Étoiles — streaming live worldwide on DAZN.

They were supposed to clash months ago. Fate delayed it. Now it lands right before Christmas, under chandeliers and spotlights, where fists will ruin suits and reputations.

Masoud hasn’t fought since November, when he edged Liam Davies to grab the IBO crown in a nasty scrap. McGrail’s coming off a majority decision over Ionut Baluta, and he’s been running his mouth since June. Now they’ve got nowhere to hide.

“Monte-Carlo or Not, I’m Bringing Chaos”

Masoud, Ben Davison’s quiet killer from Stoke, looks more gangster than gentleman about the whole affair.

“I was gutted when it got postponed,” Masoud said. “But now it’s Monte-Carlo — I’m buzzing. Fans are gonna remember this one.”

He’s talking slick but moving mean. His eyes say what the quotes don’t: he’s ready to take someone’s head home as a souvenir.

McGrail? He’s coming to ruin the evening.

“It’s time to shine, baby,” he said. “I’ve never been this excited for a fight since my debut. I’m No.1.”

Proper Scouse confidence. A little too confident, maybe.

Beatriz Ferreira vs Elif Turhan – The Golden War

If you thought the lads had the monopoly on violence, you’re mistaken.
Brazil’s Olympic queen Beatriz Ferreira is putting her IBF Lightweight World Title on the line against Elif “Golden Turk” Turhan — two undefeated warriors, no love lost, no quit.

Ferreira’s been calling for danger.

“The bigger the challenge, the better I perform,” she said. “She’s coming with a name — I’m sending her home with bruises.”

Turhan smiled when asked about that.

“We’re both undefeated. We’re both warriors. It’s gonna be a real war,” she said.

Sounds polite. Won’t be.

McCormack vs Walker – British Grit Under the Glitter

When Pat McCormack and Conah Walker meet in Monte-Carlo, it won’t matter that the venue’s fancy — this one’s pure British beef.
Walker’s coming in confident after nearly flattening Lewis Crocker, and he’s got that Wolverhampton snarl.

“I’m buzzing for this,” Walker said. “Big stage. Big fight. Can’t wait.”

McCormack, fresh off a clinical eliminator win, plans on painting the canvas with precision.

“We’re both rolling with momentum,” he said. “But this is where I make my statement — and there’s no better place to do it than Monte-Carlo.”

This fight might look pretty on posters, but it’ll be ugly in the ring.

Johnny Fisher – The Romford Bull Charges South

He’s loud, he’s lovable, and he’s back.
Johnny “The Romford Bull” Fisher returns under new trainer Tony Sims, facing Uganda’s Herbert Matovu (9-1, 8 KOs).

“It’s time to get this show back on the road. Bosh!” Fisher grunted — and that’s all he needed to say.

Simple words from a bloke built to swing, not talk.

McComb vs Micallef – The Local vs The Visitor

Northern Ireland’s Sean McComb defends his IBF European Super Lightweight belt against Monaco’s own Hugo Micallef, who’s hoping to spoil the party on home turf.

“It’s massive,” McComb said. “Matchroom show, Monte-Carlo, noise — I’m bringing war and supporters who drink louder than the crowd sings.”

Expect that one to sound like Belfast in a ballroom.

  1. This whole thing feels more about showing off than actual fighting. I miss when boxing was dirty and real, not some glittery TV show in a ballroom.

    • ‘Ballroom brawls’ sound cool but yeah, I agree — all this flash distracts from the fighters’ grit and pain. It ain’t supposed to be pretty!

  2. McComb better watch out thinking it’s just another fight. That Micallef guy got pride in his home turf and might surprise everyone. Don’t underestimate a man with nothing to lose.

    • Exactly! Fighting at home can turn someone into a beast. McComb talks big but pressure does weird things when you’re not on your land.

    • Still think McComb too strong for Micallef though, even if it is his backyard. The Irish always bring that noise and fists wherever they go 🍀🥊.

  3. Johnny Fisher’s back and that’s all I care about! Don’t care who he’s fighting, the Bull just goes wild. No talking, just smashing. That’s what boxing should be every time 🐂.

  4. McCormack better not think he’s gonna have it easy. Walker nearly put Crocker to sleep and he’s got that mean look. These fancy lights won’t save you when fists fly.

  5. All this posh stuff don’t make the fights better. I just wanna see blood and knockouts. Don’t care if it’s in Monte Carlo or a garage, just punch hard and fast 🥊.

  6. I don’t understand why women fighting has to be all polite in the article. They just as tough as the men! Ferreira gonna smash that other girl easy if you ask me.

    • That Turhan girl looks too soft for this level. I think she’s gonna regret stepping in the ring with Ferreira. This ain’t no fashion show!

  7. Masoud talks big but he ain’t fought in ages. You can’t just show up in a suit and expect to win. McGrail’s got more fire lately and that’ll matter more than shiny lights.

    • Nah mate, Masoud’s got killer eyes. That bloke’s dangerous. McGrail just talks loud but Masoud looks like he’s ready to take someone’s jaw off 🔥.

  8. I don’t get why they need to fight in Monte Carlo like it’s some kind of movie scene. Boxing is about grit, not chandeliers. It’s just too fancy for real fighters if you ask me.
