Katie Taylor Beats Amanda Serrano Again – Baumgardner Dominates, Shadasia Green Shocks Marshall at MSG

Katie Taylor did it again. In front of a packed Madison Square Garden and under the bright lights of Netflix’s streaming circus, she outpointed Amanda Serrano for a third time. Scores of 97-93 (twice) and 95-95 gave the Irish icon the win, her record now 26-1. Serrano’s 47-4-2 tag will sting a bit more after this one. Once again, razor-close, but enough for Taylor to walk away unbeaten in the trilogy—and still undisputed.

Alycia Baumgardner also returned, dusted off any ring rust, and gave Jennifer Miranda a reality check. Clean jabs, counters, and zero doubt. Baumgardner swept 98-92 twice and 97-93 once to retain her super-featherweight belts. She didn’t chase a knockout—she boxed her head off instead. Miranda looked game, but outgunned.

And then came Shadasia Green. The underdog from MVP’s backyard snatched up Savannah Marshall’s shine and walked away with the unified super middleweight belts. A split decision—96-93, 95-94 for Green, 96-93 for Marshall—left some fans crying robbery and others yelling “finally.” Either way, Green got the $250K Performance of the Night bonus and the belts.

Is Katie Taylor really 3-0 against Serrano? Or just 3-0 on paper?

Serrano applied pressure, landed big, and didn’t take a step back. But judges saw Taylor’s slick movement, volume, and ring control as enough once again. Can a fighter be 3-0 in a rivalry and still not be the clear better fighter? Yep—welcome to boxing.

Taylor’s footwork did the job, even if it didn’t wow anyone. Serrano kept it honest all night and may feel like she was robbed again. But until judges stop rewarding footwork over firepower, Taylor’s style will always win on paper.

Baumgardner, meanwhile, made it look easy. She didn’t need to brawl, didn’t chase a knockout—just boxed with patience, poise, and a clear game plan. Miranda tried to drag her into exchanges but was picked off each time. Dominance doesn’t always come with knockouts.

Is Shadasia Green now the real face of women’s 168? Or was this just one big upset?

Savannah Marshall came in with the belts, the fanbase, and the bigger name. But Green came with bad intentions. She hammered the body early, boxed smart, and clearly took more of the meaningful exchanges. Marshall fought well in spots, but this was Green’s night.

Ellie Scotney took Yamileth Mercado’s belt and dropped her twice in the final round. It was one-way traffic, and now Scotney holds the WBC, IBF, WBO, and Ring titles. Another quiet killer rising through the chaos.

Cherneka Johnson? She stopped Shuretta Metcalf in the ninth and made history—Australia’s first undisputed bantamweight champ in the four-belt era. Cameron beat Camara like it was sparring. Ramla Ali got another win, barely. And Tamm Thibeault? She stopped a #1-ranked contender with three-minute rounds and didn’t blink.

MVP’s multi-hyphenate experiment Ramla Ali (10-2, 2 KOs) somehow walked away with another win, this time over Brazil’s Lila Furtado (11-3, 2 KOs), in what felt like an eight-round sleepwalk. Judges scored it 78-74, 77-75 x2, Ali didn’t do nearly enough to deserve it. Furtado pressed the action, landed the heavier shots, and looked like the only one trying to win. Ali spent most of the time posing and pawing. It was a robbery, plain and simple. Painful to watch, harder to justify. But when you’ve got a model, influencer, and corporate darling in the ring, you already know how this story ends. Overrated? That’d be kind.

  1. Katie Taylor only wins cause judges like her style but style ain’t everything! Serrano throw real punches that do damage! Judges need to watch fights different or we gonna see more fake wins.

    • “Real talk 👏 Serrano put in work and got robbed again! How can someone lose when they clearly landin more power shots? I don’t get it.”

  2. Ramla Ali ain’t no real fighter. They give her wins cause she famous and pretty, not cause she good in the ring. That girl from Brazil looked better every round 💯

  3. Baumgardner didn’t even try to knock her out! That’s boring boxing to me. If you gonna be champ, you gotta bring the pain, not just jab and move all night long 😴

  4. I don’t care what no one says, Shadasia Green deserved that win! She hit harder and controlled more rounds than Marshall did. People saying robbery just mad they fav lost for once.

  5. There ain’t no way Katie Taylor won that fight again fair. Serrano was hittin harder and stayin in control. Judges just keep liking the runner more than the fighter with heart. That’s not right at all.

    • Exactly! Serrano walked her down all night and still lost. You can’t win a fight backpedaling the whole time. This sport broken if that’s how they score now 😠

    • Taylor always gets the gift decisions cause of who she is. Serrano shoulda been champion by now, but boxing politics ruin everything 🤷
