Kyrone Davis Joins A Night of Explosive Boxing in Las Vegas with Davis, Charlo, and Plant!

By Tim Smith - April 30, 2025 - No comments

The countdown is on for Saturday, May 31, when Kyrone “Shut It Down” Davis (19-3-1, 6 KOs) steps into the ring for a high-stakes 10-round WBA Super Middleweight Title Eliminator against undefeated Yoenli Feliciano Hernandez (14-0, 12 KOs) in a thrilling middleweight showdown. The fight will be part of a four-fight PBC Championship Boxing on Prime Video card, streaming exclusively for Prime members at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT from Michelob ULTRA Arena at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.

This event will be co-headlined by Caleb Plant taking on Armando Reséndiz and Jermall Charlo squaring off against Thomas “Cornflake” LaManna in their respective 10-round matchups. It’s a night packed with action, with title shots on the line and boxing’s brightest stars putting it all on the line.

Davis’ Determination: Ready for His Title Shot

For Kyrone Davis, a win on May 31 would cement his place as a legitimate contender for a world title. Davis, a fighter who’s had his fair share of challenges, is now riding a three-bout winning streak after a dominant performance over Elijah Garcia in June 2024.

“A win on May 31 will 100% let everyone know I need a title shot,” said Davis. “Stop playing with my name. I’ve fought a lot of world champions, and now I’m ready for the next level.” Davis credits his successful run to his dedicated camp with trainer Stephen “Breadman” Edwards, his long-time coach who’s been by his side for over a decade.

Hernandez: A Rising Star with Ambitious Goals

Yoenli Feliciano Hernandez, 28, comes into this fight as the WBA No. 1-ranked contender with an undefeated record and a streak of impressive wins. He most recently showcased his skills by dominating Angel Ruiz in February, and Hernandez is looking to make a statement by taking out Davis and advancing toward a title shot.

“I know Davis is a tough fighter, but I’m coming to make a statement and prove that I’m the best in the division,” Hernandez said. “I respect his experience, but I believe my skills will take me to the next level.”

Co-Main Event Action: Plant, Charlo, and More!

Caleb Plant, the former super middleweight champion, returns to the ring against Armando Reséndiz in a thrilling showdown, while Jermall Charlo faces off with Thomas “Cornflake” LaManna in a high-stakes 10-round bout. These matchups add even more excitement to an already stacked night of fights, with the world watching as the super middleweight division heats up.

The Undercard: Future Stars in Action

The night is packed with rising stars, including Eric Priest (15-0, 8 KOs) who will take on an opponent to be announced, and Joshua “Good” Edwards (1-0, 1 KO), who will make his return to the ring after his stellar debut in April 2025.

Also on the card, Federico Pacheco Jr. (8-0, 6 KOs) will fight Calvin Barnett (5-2, 2 KOs) in a six-round super middleweight bout, and Cayden Griffiths (4-0, 4 KOs) will continue his knockout streak in a six-round welterweight fight.
