Puerto Rican Olympian Yankiel Rivera signs with MVP — flyweight standout set for summer return under Jake Paul’s banner

Most Valuable Promotions just bagged another real one. Puerto Rican flyweight Yankiel Rivera (7-0, 3 KOs), currently ranked WBA #1, WBC #5, and WBO #7, has signed with MVP and will make his debut under their banner this summer. The undefeated 112lb prospect already holds the WBA Continental, WBC Silver, and WBO Intercontinental titles. Now he joins Amanda Serrano, Alycia Baumgardner, and Savannah Marshall on the most stacked women’s-and-men’s crossover roster in the sport.

Jake Paul and Nakisa Bidarian just leveled up MVP’s Puerto Rican empire. Rivera’s here to win titles—and raise hell.

From Olympic lone wolf to MVP’s newest weapon

Rivera’s amateur résumé reads like a prospect promoter’s dream. Multiple-time Puerto Rican national champion. Bronze at the 2018 Central American Games. Bronze again at the 2019 Pan Ams. One of just a few who’ve worn the Olympic badge—and Puerto Rico’s only boxing rep in Tokyo.

He turned pro in 2022 and hasn’t slowed down since. He starched his debut opponent in round one, won again by third-round stoppage, and has racked up decisions over Fernando Diaz, Andy Dominguez, and Victor Sandoval. In his last outing? He torched Angel Gonzalez in four.

This isn’t a hopeful. This is a title shot waiting for a date.

MVP keeps building the Boricua arsenal

Amanda Serrano, MVP’s standard bearer, didn’t hide her excitement: “He was our only Olympian in Tokyo. Now he’s with us.” Jake Paul echoed the point: “Yankiel is the real deal… we’re proud to showcase his brilliance this summer.”

Rivera joins a savage cast. Shadasia Green. Savannah Marshall. Ellie Scotney. Alycia Baumgardner. Chantelle Cameron. Dina Thorslund. And now Rivera. MVP isn’t just stacking belts—they’re building a global fight factory with Puerto Rico as the heart.

Rivera’s confident. “MVP is the company that will take me to the very next level,” he said. If he’s right, flyweights better take cover.

  2. People acting like Jake Paul is some kinda genius for signing this dude, but let’s be real, it’s about money not talent most times 😒 I’ll believe Rivera’s hype when he beats a top dog.

  3. All these titles like WBA Continental and WBO Intercontinental don’t really mean much when you think about it. It’s not the real world title so I don’t get what makes him so special yet 🤷

  4. They always talk about these fighters like they superheroes or something. Okay, he’s undefeated but it’s only been seven fights! Calm down and let him prove it in the ring first before all this noise.

  5. Honestly, I think MVP just signs people so they can look like they doing something important. Yankiel might be good but he ain’t fought no one crazy yet. Let’s see when he steps up for real.

  6. This signing don’t make sense if you ask me. Just cause he from Puerto Rico and went to the Olympics don’t mean he ready for big fights yet. They need to slow down with the hype.

  7. I don’t really get why everyone is acting like this guy is already a champion. Just cause he won bronze before don’t mean he gonna beat the top pros. MVP just hyping him too much. 😤
