Results: Vergil Ortiz Jr. Destroys Erickson Lubin in Two – “Boots, Come Over Here!”

Vergil Ortiz Jr. turned Fort Worth into a bloody demolition site on Saturday night, making Erickson “The Hammer” Lubin look more like a lad holding a spanner he didn’t know how to use. Two rounds. That’s all it took. Vergil didn’t box him, he broke him.

The WBC Interim Super Welterweight champ from Grand Prairie, Texas, moved to 24-0 with 22 knockouts — and once again proved that when he decides he’s done for the night, somebody’s getting folded. Honestly, the whole thing was over quicker than a pint at closing time.

Lubin looked game… for about 90 seconds

Ortiz didn’t bother with feeling-out rounds or tactical chess. He came forward like a bloke chasing last orders, pinned Lubin to the ropes in Round 2 and unleashed absolute carnage. The ref saw enough at 1:30 — and frankly, so did everyone else.

Lubin’s corner probably should’ve thrown in the towel before the first bell. The Floridian looked solid on paper, but once Vergil’s right hand landed, that paper caught fire.

Afterward, Ortiz couldn’t even be arsed to celebrate. Just stood there, cold as a pint left on the bar.

“There wasn’t much to evaluate,” he said. “I just capitalized on his mistakes. I’m a come-forward fighter, yeah, but I can be smart when I want.”

Then, with a smirk that said he already knows what comes next:

“Boots, come over here.”

That’s not a callout — that’s an eviction notice.

All that talk about Vergil gassing out… lovely myth, that

Remember all the noise from “experts” saying he’s fragile? Finished? Bit rusty after his layoff? Well, tell that to Lubin, who’s probably still trying to get his breath back somewhere in the dressing room. Ortiz is built like an engine — no gears, just torque and pain.

There’s levels to this, as the man said. Lubin might’ve thought he was stepping into a boxing ring. Turned out it was a crime scene.

The rest of the night – a proper scrap-fest

  • Darius Fulghum vs David Stevens: went 10 rounds and ended a majority draw. Loads of noise, not much clarity.

  • Amari “The Reaper” Jones (15-0, 13 KOs) turned Shady Gamhour (14-3, 9 KOs) into a highlight reel – two knockdowns and done in three.

  • Joshua “Rocket” Edwards (5-0, 5 KOs) kept the KO streak alive, battering Zeno Vooris (5-6, 5 KOs) until the doctor saved him. Blood everywhere. Proper horror film stuff.

  • Robin Safar (19-0, 13 KOs) boxed tidy and smart, schooling Derick Miller Jr. (18-1, 10 KOs) to nick the WBA Continental Americas Cruiserweight strap.

  • Eric “The Korean Cowboy” Priest (16-0-1, 8 KOs) looked out of sync and got a split draw with Esneiker Correa (16-6-2, 14 KOs) — one of those fights where both looked annoyed at life.

  • Javier Meza (5-0, 2 KOs) and Sam Castellanos (4-0, 3 KOs) both cruised through routine wins, keeping the local crowd cheerful between the carnage.

Honest Take

Vergil Ortiz Jr. isn’t here for tactical debates or DAZN highlight edits — he’s here to flatten people. This wasn’t a comeback; this was a public service announcement. He’s strong, mean, and absolutely not interested in playing nice.

And if Jaron “Boots” Ennis does step up next, he better pack lunch and life insurance, because Vergil’s running through people like cheap lager on a Friday.
