BP Pulse LIVE in Birmingham will explode on Saturday, June 21 — main card starting at 7:00 p.m. local / 2:00 p.m. ET / 7:00 p.m. BST — live and exclusive worldwide on DAZN.
Two rising stars. One world title. No hiding places.
Masoud’s Momentum
Shabaz Masoud (14-0, 4 KOs) has been quietly building one of the most impressive résumés in British boxing.
He didn’t just beat Liam Davies — he dominated him and grabbed the IBO belt in the process.
Since then, the Stoke fighter has stayed locked in, warning that a sharper, hungrier version is about to show up.
“I’ve been in the gym since November. This is another big domestic fight against Peter McGrail that I know will bring the best out of me,” Masoud said. “I’m looking forward to showing everyone what I’m about again.”
McGrail’s Shot at Redemption
Peter McGrail (11-1, 6 KOs) is no stranger to the spotlight — but this is different.
He’s been rebuilding carefully since his upset loss to Ja’Rico O’Quinn, and after outpointing Rhys Edwards on the Fury-Usyk undercard, he’s charging into his first real world title shot.
“I respect Shabaz Masoud — he’s a top fighter,” McGrail said. “But the best version of Peter McGrail beats any Super-Bantamweight in the world, and that’s what you’ll get June 21.”
No trash talk. No gimmicks. Two of Britain’s sharpest fighters throwing down for real stakes.
Galal Yafai Chases Global Glory
Local hero Galal Yafai (9-0, 7 KOs) returns with momentum after stopping Sunny Edwards in brutal fashion. Now he defends his WBC Interim Flyweight title against Francisco Rodriguez (39-6-1, 27 KOs) — a tough Mexican veteran who’s seen it all.
“I’m excited to be fighting back in Birmingham,” Yafai said. “I can’t wait to put on a show against a top fighter.”
Rodriguez is fired up too, promising: “Galal Yafai has never been in the ring with a fighter like me — real Mexican style! Come June 21, the WBC belt is mine. Viva Mexico!”
The winner is heading straight for a shot at unified world champion Kenshiro Teraji. No soft touches here.
Stacked Undercard Action
The June 21 show is loaded:
-
Conah Walker (15-3-1, 6 KOs) defends his British Welterweight title against Liam Taylor (28-2-1, 14 KOs).
-
Cruiserweight prospect Pat Brown (1-0, 1 KO) returns after an explosive debut.
-
Local names Ibraheem Sulaimaan, Aaron Bowen, and Hamza Uddin all step up.
-
Sixteen fights in total — Birmingham fans are getting spoiled.
As Matchroom’s Eddie Hearn said: “This is a brilliant domestic fight between two of the best Super-Bantamweights in the world. It’s going to be an electric atmosphere.”
