Terence “Bud” Crawford’s Homecoming Parade Set for Omaha After Historic Win

Terence Crawford’s city is ready to roar. Omaha will throw a victory parade on Saturday, September 27 to honor its own pound-for-pound king after he shocked the sport yet again by beating Canelo Alvarez to become a three-time undisputed world champion.

Crawford didn’t just win. He outboxed Alvarez in front of 70,842 at Allegiant Stadium, with another 41 million streaming on Netflix. Moving up two divisions, he walked out with all the super middleweight belts and a spot in history as the first fighter to go undisputed in three different weight classes.

Parade Details Fans Need to Know

The parade starts at 10 a.m. at 19th and Farnam, runs down to 10th and Harney, and finishes at Heartland of America Park. That’s where the stage will be, and where the city, state officials, and Crawford’s team will celebrate what’s being called one of boxing’s greatest runs.

Fans are expected to line the streets early. Crawford, his longtime coach Brian “BoMac” McIntyre, and other special guests will be on hand. The city wants this to be more than just a parade—it’s a statement about what Crawford means to Omaha.

More Than Just Belts: Crawford’s Local Roots

This isn’t a fighter who forgot where he came from. Crawford and BoMac opened B&B Sports Academy back in 2013 to give North Omaha kids a safe place to train and stay out of trouble. It’s still the gym where Team Crawford works, and local kids get the surreal chance to spar in the same ring as the undisputed champion of the world.

“Bud has always been about giving back,” a local coach said. “These kids see him every day, not just on TV. That’s why Omaha loves him.”

Why This Win Matters

Beating Alvarez wasn’t just another notch. It was a move up two full divisions, against the sport’s biggest draw, and Crawford still looked a step ahead. He’s now the only man with undisputed titles in three weights, and he’s got Omaha behind him every step.

  1. Too many fights on the card nobody care about 😒 Who even are some of these guys? They should’ve had more famous names if it’s gonna be on Netflix in front of millions.

  2. People acting like Crawford can just jump weight and win easy but it’s not that simple. Fighters train years to move up right and this feel rushed.

  3. Canelo got too much power for Bud. Bud is slick but that ain’t enough when you fighting a tank like Canelo who been in wars with bigger dudes.

  4. Netflix doing this fight makes no sense. They don’t know boxing like that and I don’t trust them to show it right. I want real sports channels for big fights like this.

    • Agree 💯 Netflix should stick to shows and movies not fights. It’s gonna be messy with people talking over each other and missing stuff that matters.

  5. I don’t get why Crawford think he can beat Canelo just cause he beat Spence. This is two weight classes up and Canelo way stronger. He gonna get hurt bad. Not smart at all 😤
