Usyk vs. Dubois II: The Undisputed Heavyweight Championship Set for Wembley on July 19

By Tim Smith - April 30, 2025 - 8 comments

A new undisputed heavyweight champion of the world will be crowned on Saturday, July 19, as Oleksandr Usyk (38) and Daniel Dubois (27) meet for the second time in a historic title clash at Wembley Stadium in London. The event will be broadcast live on DAZN Worldwide and promoted by Hall of Fame promoter Frank Warren for Queensberry and Ready To Fight.

This fight marks the first-ever undisputed heavyweight championship bout on British soil and promises to break viewing records across the UK and Europe. Fans will witness Usyk defend his WBC, WBO, and WBA titles against IBF world champion Dubois in what is sure to be a monumental night for boxing.

Usyk’s quest for a third undisputed title

For Usyk, the former undisputed cruiserweight champion, this will be his third attempt at becoming the undisputed heavyweight champion. He first won the cruiserweight crown in 2018, before taking the heavyweight title in his May 2024 showdown against Tyson Fury. Usyk, who has already cemented his place as one of boxing’s finest, is looking to add to his legacy with this historic fight on UK soil.

“I’m grateful to God for the opportunity to once again fight for the undisputed championship,” Usyk said. “Thank you, Daniel, for taking care of my IBF belt – now I want it back.”

Dubois: Hungry for revenge

For Dubois, this fight is personal. Their first encounter in August 2023 was a controversial affair. In the fifth round, Dubois dropped Usyk with a body shot, only for the referee to rule it illegal, granting Usyk over four minutes to recover. Despite the setback, Usyk would go on to win the fight in the ninth round, but Dubois has never agreed with the decision.

“This is the fight I wanted and demanded, and now I get my chance for revenge against Oleksandr Usyk,” Dubois declared. “I should have won the first fight and was denied by the judgment of the referee, so I will make no mistake this time around in front of my people at the national stadium in my home city. I am a superior and more dangerous fighter now, and Usyk will find this out for himself on July 19.”

A historic fight on UK soil

Promoter Frank Warren expressed his excitement for the event: “I am thrilled to deliver this historic undisputed occasion for Daniel at Wembley Stadium,” he said. “It will be an honor to promote a sporting event of this magnitude and a privilege to bring over a champion of the stature of Oleksandr. I am certain that we will see the best of British both in and outside of the ring, from Daniel and the unrivalled fight fans who will pack out the biggest sporting venue in the country.”

Both fighters have shown unwavering determination to make this fight a reality, and with Riyadh Season’s sponsorship, the event promises to be a spectacle for boxing fans worldwide. “This will not only be a great bout but also a unique event in terms of entertainment,” said Sergey Lapin, CEO of Ready To Fight.

  6. This whole hype is just a joke. That first fight was robbed from Dubbois, no way that punch was low! They gave Usick all the time in world to breath, unfair refereein at itz finest. Why even bother again if system rigged?👎
