Dana White and Oscar De La Hoya turned a disagreement about boxing standards into a personal fight, saying everything loudly while the actual business of boxing slipped into the background.
Their hostility stretches back to 2016, but this latest exchange sharpened it again. De La Hoya went after Zuffa Boxing through social media, aiming at the setting, the fighters, and the seriousness of the shows. He positioned his comments as plain talk rather than promotion.
“I’ll say what everyone is thinking,” De La Hoya said. “Nobody wants to watch club show boxing in the Apex with influencers who give two s–ts about boxing. It honestly felt like a COVID bubble show. It had the look of a club show with the action of a sparring session. There’s a reason why those fighters were passed over by the top promoters, and it was obvious for the world to see.”
The criticism was direct. Venue choice. Fighter depth. Overall presentation. De La Hoya questioned whether Zuffa’s boxing arm belonged in the same conversation as established promotions.
Why White skipped the argument and attacked the man
White responded from ringside at Zuffa Boxing 02 and never engaged with the boxing points. He went straight at De La Hoya.
“Oscar is on a sinking ship and will not shut the f–k up,” White said. “This guy, it’s fascinating. He’s gonna have to throw the panties and f–king stockings back on and get on OnlyFans to start paying his rent. My boy’s running out of money. His ship is sinking very fast, and he’s talking s–t all the way down.”
White pushed it further while addressing the camera.
“Is that what you wanted? Is that what you wanted, everybody? There you go. Panties and fishnets back on. Jump on OnlyFans and pay that $23 million on f–king rent, yo, buddy. Talking s–t like that. Bye. Bye.”
The choice was clear. White did not defend matchmaking, fighter quality, or long-term plans. He leaned on ridicule, pulling from a public episode that has followed De La Hoya for years.
What De La Hoya has already said about the episode
De La Hoya has spoken about that incident before and did so again in a 2024 interview.
“I was drugged up, I didn’t even know it,” De La Hoya said. “I was getting with bad people, this and that. Two women come in my room with a suitcase. That’s all I remember … Women’s clothes, drugs, this, that. They set me up. They set me up, but it’s OK. It happened. So what?”
White continues to use that moment as an insult rather than an answer. De La Hoya continues to question whether Zuffa Boxing offers real depth or staying power. Neither side moved the discussion toward fighters, pay, or structure.
What remains is a feud where personal shots overpower any useful talk about where boxing under Zuffa is heading.

Dana shoulda answered for real about why them fights look so bad on TV. Making jokes don’t hide that the show looked cheap and boring 😤
‘Cause he ain’t got no answers man! He knows it’s weak so he tryna distract everybody with clown talk 😒
‘Cause maybe deep down even Dana knows those fighters wouldn’t last in a real big promotion fight 😂
This whole thing stupid now. They both act like kids but at least Oscar talking about stuff that matter in boxing. Dana don’t care, he just wanna make fun of people.
All Dana do is yell and insult people. That don’t make his boxing brand better. If Zuffa was serious, he’d be showing us top fighters not YouTubers and wannabes 🙄
Oscar might have messed up before but least he’s talkin’ about the actual boxing part. Dana just talk trash and never say anything real about the fighters or events.
I don’t get why Dana can’t just answer about the fights instead of makin’ fun of Oscar. If you run a boxing thing, talk boxing not dresses and rent 💩
Exactly bro, like if your show is good then just prove it with the matches. All he do is act like a bully instead of saying something smart.
